Experience
I love Math and I have a passion for teaching. I recently moved to the area from Davis county where I taught and tutored math for the past 16 years. I have a B.S. in Math Education with a Physics minor from USU as well as a current level 4 teaching license with the State of Utah. I have extensive experience with high school math and I am able to supplement lessons or teach entire lessons based on the individual needs of the student. I specialize in students with ADHD or other learning disabilities as well as at risk students who need individualized instruction. I also have extensive experience working with students on the Honors track seeking greater depth of knowledge. My extensive experience and education allows me to fix gaps in knowledge aw well as troubleshoot and prevent mistakes while maintaining the students current math level. I am able to adapt teaching methodology as needed and incorporate discovery learning or manipulatives in the lessons to illustrate a math concept. I am skilled with the TI series of calculators that are used in most classrooms. My greatest goal for every student is to help them be confident with math. There is nothing better than seeing the light in their eyes as they gain understanding and self-confidence. I am available for either single sessions as needed or regularly scheduled weekly appointments.
